strange happenings

You know, people here think I'm a snob because I use words like "perplexed," "rhetoric," and "magnanimous." Um, that doesn't make me a snob does it? I thought I was speaking English properly. Has the language really gone to pot this much or is it our educational system? I really am perplexed by this. I thought most people with a HS education would know what a rhetorical question is. Maybe I just paid attention better? I'm confused.

This just in from Kevin Doran...

Hi, everyone
Just a quick note to remind you all that submissions for this issue are closed on May 18, and are likely to stay closed over summer (break).
Also, over the weekend, after hearing yet another case of flagrant plagiarism, i set-up this community blog with Pris Campbell, which all of you are welcome to join (and i hope you do) -- just reply and let me know, if you'd like to. It's all still very embryonic, but there's ideas going around. If you could help spread the word through a blog or e-mail, please do.
Please don't send submissions to this address.
There will be new artwork for the front cover of the next issue, which will act as homepage for the site -- a beautiful, slightly surreal piece of artwork.
Also, they're trying to privatise the Internet; if you live in America, then you can stop it:
Thanks for all the subs; sorry for all the rejections.
Kevin Doran.
